BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

Fire fighters are at a much higher risk of experiencing symptoms associated with post-traumatic stress, including suicide, than the general public.

DISASTER RELIEF

When disaster strikes, fire fighters respond. Hurricanes and other natural disasters place fire fighters in the face of extreme danger, often with the inability to return to their own homes and families for a week or more. Major wildfires can force fire fighters to unsafely spend 20 or more consecutive days battling on the frontline, even often while their own homes are at risk.

COMMUNITY AWARENESS CAMPAIGNS

A long term goal of the NEP Fire Fighter Foundation is to develop community awareness campaigns to educate the public on how to be better prepared for potential disasters. Funds raised for these campaigns will go to various awareness initiatives in partnership with local fire departments to educate communities of specific regions that are prone to natural disasters.
